Compressor for printing and packaging
Screw compressor for printing, carton and packaging plants - dry air for presses, folders, strappers and stretch wrappers, shift work. 2-year warranty.
In a print shop, a carton plant or a packaging line, compressed air is invisible but everywhere: offset and digital presses, folding machines, inserters, palletisers, pneumatic strapping and stretch wrapping machines at the end of the line. Each of these machines has cylinders and solenoid valves that need clean, dry air to run smoothly.
Why dry air matters so much
The air drawn in by the compressor contains moisture. Once compressed and cooled in the pipes, it releases that moisture as water. Without treatment, the water reaches cylinders and solenoid valves: worn seals, sticking valves, intermittent faults that are hard to diagnose, and sometimes marks on paper or board when air is used for blowing.
A refrigerated dryer and filtration at the compressor outlet solve the problem at source. To define the right air quality for your machines, see our guide to compressed air quality under ISO 8573-1.
Shift work: a compressor built to last
Many print and packaging sites run two or three shifts. The compressor has to keep up: run continuously, hold stable pressure and stay economical over thousands of hours a year.
- The screw compressor is designed for continuous operation, with no forced rest periods.
- Variable speed on the S 220 PM, with its permanent magnet motor, matches air output to actual demand: useful when activity changes from one shift to the next.
- Leaks are expensive on a network that runs day and night. Our compressed air leak cost calculator gives you an estimate.
Which compressor for a print shop or packaging line?
- Screw compressor 11 kW 4-in-1: medium-sized print shop or carton workshop. Compressor, 340 L air receiver, refrigerated dryer and filtration on a single frame.
- Screw compressor 15 kW 4-in-1: site with several presses and a packaging line at the end.
- Screw compressor 22 kW permanent magnet: high-demand site running three shifts, to be combined with an air receiver and a dryer sized for your network.
Availability comes first
A stopped line costs far more than a compressor. Our technicians and dealers in the UK offer a repair visit or a suitable solution as quickly as possible (repair, part shipped from England or a hire compressor in the meantime), and industrial customers have a 24/7 WhatsApp line with requests handled within the hour. Spare parts remain available for 15 years.
Frequently asked questions — Printing and packaging
Why is an air dryer essential in a print shop?
Without a dryer, condensate reaches the cylinders and solenoid valves of presses, folders and packaging machines: worn seals, sticking valves, intermittent faults, and sometimes marks on paper when air is used for blowing. A refrigerated dryer and filtration at the compressor outlet prevent these problems. The 4-in-1 screw compressors already include them.
Which compressor for a print shop running three shifts?
A screw compressor, designed for continuous operation. For a high-demand site, the S 220 PM (22 kW, permanent magnet motor, variable speed) matches air output to actual demand from one shift to the next. It is combined with an air receiver and a dryer sized for your network.
What happens if the compressor breaks down during a night shift?
Industrial customers have a 24/7 WhatsApp line, with requests handled within the hour, and our technicians and dealers in the UK offer a repair visit or a suitable solution as quickly as possible: repair, part shipped from England or a hire compressor in the meantime. Spare parts are available for 15 years.
