Consumables and equipment
Connection
Hoses, flexible lines and quick couplings to connect the compressor, receiver, dryer and workshop network.
Connecting the compressor to the network
The connection links the compressor, the receiver, the dryer and the workstations in the workshop. A hose that is too narrow or unsuitable fittings cause pressure losses: the compressor produces 8 bar, but the tool only receives 6.
What you need
- Connection hose: a flexible hose between the compressor and the network stops vibrations being transmitted to the rigid pipework.
- Quick couplings: they let you connect and disconnect tools without shutting off the air. Choose the same profile throughout the workshop so that all tools are compatible.
- Valves and reducers: they isolate part of the network for maintenance work and adapt the diameters.
Sizing it right
The diameter depends on the air flow to be carried and the length of the network. The greater the distance, the larger the diameter must be. Our guide on connecting a compressor explains the basic rules. For precise sizing, give the length of your network and the number of workstations in your quote request.
Common mistakes
- a network with too small a diameter, which makes the pressure drop at the far end of the workshop;
- drops taken from the underside of the pipe, which collect water: take them from the top;
- too many different quick coupling profiles, a source of leaks and adapters.
