Description

Replacement pressure switch for air compressors: it controls the starting and stopping of the motor according to the pressure in the receiver.

Signs of a faulty pressure switch

• the compressor no longer starts even though the pressure is low;
• it no longer stops and the safety valve opens;
• the cut-in and cut-out settings have drifted.

How to choose the right part?

The pressure switch must match the machine's pressure range, its supply voltage and its connection. The product page lists the compatible models; if in doubt, send the serial number or a photo of the rating plate.

Replacement involves the electrical supply: it must be carried out with the machine locked out, by a qualified person.

Setting

A pressure switch is set with two values: the cut-out pressure and the cut-in differential. The cut-out pressure must never exceed the maximum pressure of the air receiver and the compressor. A differential that is too small makes the motor start too often, which wears it and overheats the winding.
