Quick couplings for compressed air, to connect and disconnect tools without shutting off the air in the network.
Why choose them carefully?
Quick couplings come in several profiles that are not compatible with each other. Using a single profile throughout the workshop avoids adapters and leaks. A worn or undersized coupling is also a frequent source of leaks and air flow loss.
How to choose them?
- the profile already used in your workshop;
- the bore, suited to the air flow of the most air-hungry tools (sanders, blow guns, impact wrenches);
- the connection type: male or female thread, or hose tail.

Maintenance
A coupling that hisses when a tool is connected is a permanent leak: it makes the compressor run for nothing, even at night if the network stays under pressure. Replace worn couplings and shut off the workshop air at the end of the day.
