Why a flexible hose?
A compressor vibrates when running. A flexible hose between the machine and the rigid pipework absorbs these vibrations and prevents leaks at the fittings. It also makes it easier to move the compressor for maintenance.
How to choose it?
The inside diameter must suit the compressor's air flow: a hose that is too narrow causes a pressure loss that makes the machine run longer. The hose's working pressure must be higher than the compressor's, and its temperature resistance suited to the hot air at the outlet. Length, diameter and fittings to be specified in your quote request.
Good practice
Avoid tight bends that restrict the flow, secure the hose so that it does not rub against a sharp edge, and check its condition regularly: a cracked or hardened hose must be replaced before it gives way under pressure.
