Description
Desiccant compressed air dryer, for installations that require very dry air.
How does it work?
The air passes through a column filled with desiccant that captures the moisture. While one column dries the air, the second one regenerates. The dew point achieved goes well below zero, which a refrigerated dryer cannot do.
When to choose it?
- air network running outdoors or through an unheated room, with a risk of frost;
- sensitive processes: instrumentation, certain food or pharmaceutical applications, demanding paint work;
- need for a high air quality class.
It costs more than a refrigerated dryer and its regeneration uses part of the air or energy: for a standard heated workshop, a refrigerated dryer is enough. We size the dryer on quotation according to your compressor's air flow.
Installation
A desiccant dryer is protected by a fine pre-filter upstream, because oil damages the desiccant, and a dust filter downstream, which traps desiccant particles. The desiccant wears over time and is replaced according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
