Description

Automatic condensate drain, to remove water from the receiver, the dryer or the filters with no manual intervention.

Why an automatic drain?

Compressed air produces water as it cools. If nobody drains the receiver, the water builds up, rusts the tank and eventually passes into the network. The drain removes this water regularly, even when the workshop is closed.

Common types

  • timer drain: it opens at adjustable intervals;
  • level-sensing drain: it only opens when water is present, which avoids wasting compressed air.

Condensate from a screw compressor contains oil: it must be treated by an oil-water separator before discharge. Type, pressure and connection to be specified in your quote request.

Where to install it?

At the lowest point of the air receiver, at the dryer outlet and under every filter that collects water. Check regularly that it is working: a drain stuck closed lets the water back up, a drain stuck open wastes compressed air continuously.
