Safety valve

Description

Safety valve for air receivers and compressors: it opens automatically if the pressure exceeds the set value, and so protects the tank.

When to replace it?

• it leaks during normal operation;
• it has opened and does not close properly;
• it has been removed or its seal has been broken;
• during a statutory inspection that finds it non-compliant.

A safety part

The valve must be replaced with a model of the same set pressure and sufficient flow capacity. Never replace it with a plug and do not alter its setting. The product page lists the compatible models; if in doubt, send us the serial number of your machine.

Inspection

A safety valve is tested periodically by operating it, in accordance with the manual and the regulations applicable to the air receiver. It must remain accessible and unobstructed. A valve that opens often indicates a pressure switch that is out of adjustment or faulty: have the machine's setting checked.
