Workshop
Quiet compressor for workshops
Why a screw compressor is quieter than a piston compressor, and how to install it to reduce workshop noise. 2-year warranty, after-sales service in France.
Compressor noise tires out teams, disrupts phone conversations and can be heard all the way to reception. When the compressor runs all day, the noise level becomes a real selection criterion.
Why a screw compressor is quieter
A piston compressor compresses air in bursts: every stroke of the piston produces an impact, and that characteristic hammering is what you hear in the workshop. A screw compressor compresses air through the continuous rotation of two screws, with no back-and-forth movement. Operation is smoother, and the machine is generally housed in a soundproofed enclosure.
The result: for comparable use, a screw compressor is far more comfortable to have next to a workstation.
Installing your compressor to limit noise
- A dedicated room or a location set apart, well ventilated: the compressor needs fresh air to cool down.
- A stable, level installation, on a floor that does not resonate.
- Flexible connections between the machine and the network, so vibrations are not transmitted to the pipework.
- Regular maintenance: a well-maintained compressor stays quieter than a machine with clogged filters.
